1. Card Grading & Condition Evaluation (Image-Based Assessment)
Cornercheck evaluates trading cards primarily through visual inspection of photographs. While we take great care to be accurate and transparent, image-based grading is inherently subjective.
General Condition Guide Used by Cornercheck
Gem Mint (GM / 10 equivalent)
Perfect centering
Sharp corners and edges
Clean surface with no visible flaws
No whitening, scratches, or print defects visible in photos
Near Mint to Mint (NM–MT / 8–9 equivalent)
Very minor imperfections may be present
Slight corner or edge wear visible upon close inspection
Clean surface with minimal flaws
Near Mint (NM / 7 equivalent)
Light edge wear or corner softening
Minor surface marks or print lines visible in photos
Excellent (EX / 5–6 equivalent)
Noticeable corner wear and edge whitening
Surface scratches or scuffs
Card remains structurally sound
Very Good (VG / 3–4 equivalent)
Heavy wear, whitening, or creasing
Surface damage clearly visible
Poor (PR / 1–2 equivalent)
Major creases, bends, tears, or water damage
